Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Imran Baali (“we”, “us”), the maker of WBlur. They cover the WBlur Mac app, the WBlur browser extension and the wblur.com website (together, “WBlur”). By buying, downloading or using WBlur, you agree to them.
Your license
When you get WBlur, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use it on devices you own or control. You may not resell, rent or redistribute WBlur, share your license key, or remove its notices.
The browser extension is free. The Mac app is free to try for 3 days from the first time you open it on a Mac. After the trial, it stops blurring until you enter a license key. One license key can be activated on up to 3 Macs that you own or control.
The browser extension is based on open-source code released under the MIT License. That code stays available under its own license, which is included with the extension.
Purchases and payment
A Mac license key is a one-time payment ($19 at the time of writing), not a subscription. You buy it at links.wblur.com/wblur-app, which takes you to our store on Gumroad. The price is shown at checkout and may include taxes depending on where you live. Gumroad processes your payment and emails you the license key, and its terms also apply to the payment.
The Mac app checks your license key with Gumroad when you enter it, and about once a week after that. A key can't be activated on more Macs than allowed, and if you get a refund, it stops working at the next check.
Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
Updates
We may release updates to fix bugs, keep WBlur working with new versions of WhatsApp, macOS and browsers, or add features. WhatsApp can change its app or website at any time, which may temporarily stop some blurs from working until we release an update.
Acceptable use
Use WBlur lawfully. Don't try to break, reverse engineer or tamper with the paid parts of WBlur except where the law allows it, and don't use it to infringe anyone's rights.
What WBlur is, and isn't
WBlur blurs WhatsApp on your screen to keep casual onlookers from reading it. It is not a security or encryption product: it doesn't protect your account or your device, anyone using your computer can turn it off, and a blur may not hide everything in every situation. Lock your computer and log out of WhatsApp Web on shared devices.
WBlur is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by WhatsApp or Meta. WhatsApp is a trademark of WhatsApp LLC.
No warranty
To the extent the law allows, WBlur is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that WBlur will be error-free or will always work with WhatsApp.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of WBlur. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for WBlur. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Ending this agreement
You can stop using WBlur at any time by uninstalling it. If you seriously breach these terms, your license ends and you must stop using WBlur.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the country you live in.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top of this page, and the version in effect when you bought WBlur keeps applying to that purchase. Questions: me@kirwako.dev.
