Move your mouse over a message and it appears. Move away and it blurs again. You keep using WhatsApp exactly as before: WBlur's blur layer lets every click go through to WhatsApp.

How to set it up
- 1Download WBlur for Mac, free for 3 days, and drag it to your Applications folder.
- 2Open WhatsApp on your Mac, then open WBlur. It lives in your menu bar.
- 3Optionally give WBlur Accessibility access so it can blur each message and photo separately.
- 4Hover over anything to read it. Use the menu bar icon to choose what gets blurred.

What happens after the 3-day free trial?
WBlur stops blurring until you enter a license key. Buy one for $19 (one time, no subscription), then choose "Enter license key…" in the WBlur menu. One key works on up to 3 of your Macs.
Which version of macOS does WBlur need?

Why does WBlur ask for Accessibility access?
With Accessibility access, WBlur can find each message, photo and chat row in WhatsApp and blur them one by one. That is what makes options like keeping the last 3 messages readable possible. It's optional: without it, WBlur blurs fixed areas of the WhatsApp window that you can adjust.
Does WBlur work with WhatsApp Web in Safari?
WBlur for Mac blurs the WhatsApp desktop app. For WhatsApp Web, use the WBlur extension in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave or Opera.
